Dr. Alberto Ortiz

Medical director

Dr. Alberto Ortiz is an accomplished certified physician and graduate of Benemerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. With a diverse training background encompassing pediatrics, internal medicine, and gynecological surgery, Dr. Ortiz possesses a wealth of expertise.

For over a decade, Dr. Ortiz has been dedicated to the field of medical tourism, specializing in regenerative medicine, age management, and stem cell therapeutics for the past nine years. Currently, he proudly serves as the Medical Director of Advanced Biomedicine, which houses the esteemed World Stem Cells Clinic and REHEALTH, located in Cancun.

To stay at the forefront of medical advancements, Dr. Ortiz continually updates his knowledge through ongoing education at the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS) and the American Academy of Antiaging Medicine (A4M).

Driven by a belief in discipline and ethics, Dr. Ortiz and his exceptional team have successfully guided numerous patients towards improved wellness, conquering various conditions, including autoimmune diseases and pediatric ailments. Their approach is rooted in evidence-based personalized medicine.

As a dedicated full-time attending physician, Dr. Ortiz’s primary goal is not only to help his patients recover but also to empower them to thrive.

When Dr. Ortiz is not immersed in his professional endeavors, he shares his knowledge as a professor in the English Medicine program at Universidad Anahuac Cancun. Beyond the realm of academia, one of his great passions lies in the world of automobiles and motorcycles, where he finds joy in the mechanics and thrill on the open road. Dr. Ortiz is also an ardent dog lover.

Dr. Eduardo Ulloa

Attending Physician

Dr. Eduardo is a highly skilled physician with extensive training in both Mexico and Houston, TX, where he gained over 3 years of experience in medical practice, research, and healthcare service. As a certified doctor in exercise prescription and sports nutrition, he constantly see to enhance his expertise. He is currently pursuing a MAPS and Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy medical certification for articular application of stem cells.

As a Senior Attending Physician at World Stem Cells Clinic and Rehealth Clinic for over 6 years, Dr. Eduardo radiates an outgoing and joyful personality. 

With a passion for sports, especially soccer, boxing, and extreme adventures, he finds joy in exploring his athletic side. Alongside his adventurous spirit, he holds a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs, as he proudly cares for three of them alongside a cat. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Eduardo shares his expertise and valuable medical content in cell-based therapies such as stem cell therapy, NK and Dendritic cells through his social media channels.

Susana Hernandez

Scientist | Research Associate

Susana Hernandez has an impressive background, with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UDLAP), a Master’s degree in Clinical Biomedicine (UDLAP), and another Master’s degree in Bioethics Studies (Anáhuac Mexico). She also has certificates in Medical Genetics (Universitat de Valencia), Administration of Clinical Studies in Latin America (UC San Diego), and Immuno-Oncology (Harvard HMX). Although Susana was born in Mexico City, she has lived in Cancun for most of her life.

Currently, Susana is working as a Research Associate on projects related to adult stem cells, dendritic cells, and NK cells. She has earned the incredible opportunity to spend time in Germany conducting research and participating in projects related to gene editing for its potential use in human medicine.

Over the past 11 years, Susana has dedicated time to sharing her wealth of knowledge as a lecturer in biotechnology and biomedical-related courses at local universities. She believes that meeting young minds with the same interest has kept her excited about excelling in this field. Outside of the clinic, Susana is happily married and has 2 sweet boys, 3 dogs, and a cat.

Antonio Zamudio

Lab Manager

Antonio has a passion for Cell Biology, which he has demonstrated during his time at REHEALTH. Both through his work with REHEALTH and his work at Colegio de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos del Estado de Quintana Roo, Antonio works with a variety of cell lines, where he grows, harvests, and cryopreserves different cellular products. Antonio completed his undergraduate degree in clinical chemistry at The University of Veracruz and his Master’s degree in education.

Outside of the clinic, Antonio enjoys spending quality time with his family and pet.

Rodolfo Lozano

Clinical Manager

Rudy Lozano has worked with REHEALTH for over 13 years and has played a pivotal role in the process of building our esteemed clinic – from developing a team and managing HR to accounting and licensing. Rudy possesses a Business Administration degree, and while he lived in Fort Collins, CO for 11 years, he has resided in Cancun for the past 14 years.

Rudy is incredibly passionate about regenerative medicine and improving quality of life for our patients. He comes into work each day with a big smile and a positive attitude, ready to greet our patients and motivate our team.

Rudy shares his life with a beautiful Real Estate agent and his children, two dogs, and two cats. Music is embedded in his core, and he loves playing guitar in his free time.

Lucia Guzman

Patient Coordinator

Lucia has been an integral part of the REHEALTH team since 2016. Prior to joining our team, she worked for 6 years in a chromatography service company as head of acquisitions. Most of her working career has been spent in customer service through different industries. The attention and care that she provides to our patients is extraordinary.

Outside of the clinic, Lucia enjoys spending time on the beach watching the sunrise and in the ocean scuba diving. She also enjoys nature photography and spending time with her dogs.  

Daniela Curiel

Patient Coordinator

Daniela joined the REHEALTH team 5 years ago and has provided the highest standard of patient care in our clinic. Originally from Cuernavaca, near Mexico City, Daniela has resided in Cancun for the past 15 years. She obtained a degree in Tourism and demonstrates her incredible empathy, solidarity, respect, and inclusion both inside and outside of the clinic.

Daniela believes that each family and each patient she works with contributes something valuable to her life, and these patients motivate her to continue giving 100% to guide them in whatever they require during their stay. Outside of the clinic, Daniela spends time with her boyfriend and two dogs. She loves going to the beach and enjoys spending time with the people she loves.

Rafael Gonzalez, PhD

Scientific Advisor

Dr. Rafael Gonzalez has always been passionate about helping those suffering from degenerative disorders. He graduated from University of California, Irvine with his Ph.D in Anatomy and Neurobiology and has since been responsible for the development of clinical stem cell applications for several diseases and trauma states.

Dr. Gonzalez leads multiple investigational new drug applications with patented stem cell technology, works on the clinical development of immune-based therapies with natural killer cells, and has several publications to back his expertise. He also teaches worldwide for the American Academy of Antiaging on age related disorders and the role of the immune system and cell therapeutics to aid in maintaining health.

Dr. Gonzalez is well respected in the regenerative medicine sector for his ability to understand all aspects of cell-based therapeutics and their clinical applicability.

Brian Pla

Commercial Advisor

Brian Pla began his career in the financial industry with TradeStation Securities in 1999 and later Gain Capital in 2001. He then embarked his career in entrepreneurship, cofounding a foreign currency trading firm. Mr. Pla initially entered into the medical arena after experiencing the benefits of cell-based therapies. Applying his affinity for pioneering technology, he introduced PRP and other cell-based offerings, expanding options for non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures.

Realizing the benefits of precision and regenerative medicine, Mr. Pla founded Gentera Centers for Precision Medicine and Plastic Surgery in 2017, focused on the provision of Regenerative Medicine and personalized treatments which focus on identifying the source of conditions and incorporating cell-based therapies to help the body regenerate to a younger, healthier state. He built a team of medical and scientific experts that led their science backed approach to healing. The team’s expertise helped navigate Gentera to maintain first-mover advantage in bringing new regenerative medical solutions to market, through both clinical and pharmaceutical components.

Mr. Pla is passionate about regenerative medicine and its abilities, and his vision has helped drive new products & services to market that harness the advances in both cell-based therapies and precision medicine.
